‘W.’ and the Art of Redemption
If you haven’t seen the recent paintings by the artist formerly known as
President George W. Bush, you can find them collected in a new book
called “Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to
America’s Warriors.” It’s just become a New York Times best seller.
The proceeds from sales will go to a nonprofit organization that helps
veterans and their families recover and rebuild from America’s
post-Sept. 11 wars — otherwise known as Mr. Bush’s disastrous venture in
the Middle East.
